8.56.1. Installation of Gawk

First, ensure some unneeded files are not installed:

sed -i 's/extras//' Makefile.in

Update helper scripts to allow compilation on loongarch:

tar xf ../config-20210826.tar.xz --strip-components=1
cp config.{guess,sub} extension/build-aux

Prepare Gawk for compilation:

./configure --prefix=/usr

Compile the package:

make

To test the results, issue:

make check

Install the package:

make install

If desired, install the documentation:

mkdir -pv                                   /usr/share/doc/gawk-5.1.0
cp    -v doc/{awkforai.txt,*.{eps,pdf,jpg}} /usr/share/doc/gawk-5.1.0
