This package takes a long time to build because LTO is enabled, and the LTO pass is not parallelized.
First, remove a check against the system Pango version that is too strict:
sed '/pango.v1_52/,+1d' -i vendor/pango-sys/Cargo.toml &&
cat >> Cargo.toml << EOF
[patch.crates-io.pango-sys]
path = "vendor/pango-sys"
EOF
Install Snapshot by running the following commands:
mkdir build && cd build && meson setup --prefix=/usr --buildtype=release .. && ninja
To test the results, issue: ninja test. One test is known to fail due to deprecated constructs in appstream-1.0+
Now, as the root
user:
ninja install
--buildtype=release
: Specify a buildtype suitable for stable releases of the package, as the default may produce unoptimized binaries.
