5.28.1. Installation of Tar

If you wish to run the test suite, apply the following patch to fix some issues with GCC-4.0.3:

patch -Np1 -i ../tar-1.15.1-gcc4_fix_tests-1.patch

Prepare Tar for compilation:

./configure --prefix=/tools

Compile the package:

make

To test the results, issue: make check.

Install the package:

make install
