+
Packages for HLFS

+
HLFS has a list of packages which you should download. Please use the versions which are
+	listed in the book; these
+	are tested versions which are known to work with each other. In addition to the packages you
+	will need to download some patches.
+	There are several ways to download the packages.

+
Hunt and Peck/Freshmeat.net

+
When a package is not available from the location listed in the book, some other places
+ to try are:

+

+
A search for the full package name in google or your
+ favorite search engine

+
Debian Package Search Page

+
filemirrors.com

+
freshmeat.net

+
Sources from your linux distro

+

+
Wget Scripts

+
Another method is a wget script.
+ We currently do not have any scripts for HLFS, but if anyone would like to make one,
+ please send it to the
+ website mailing list.
+ To use a wget script, enter:
+

+

+
wget -i hlfs-unstable.wget

+

+
LFS HTTP/FTP Sites

+
A majority of the packages should be available for download on the LFS HTTP and FTP
+ mirror sites. The best place to look would be in the
+ /pub/lfs/lfs-packages/conglomeration directory. Please check the
+ LFS Download page for the links to the servers.
