Complementing Jeremy's answer, I should add that it's possible to get
away from cronjobs completely, by adding post-commit hooks for each
sub-project's repository. The infrastructure is there and the livecd
repos has it enabled already, but I'm working on reducing the delay for
other projects before enabling post-commit for all of them (for
instance, the "update-alfs" target is taking ~ 2min to complete, which
is IMHO unacceptable for a post-commit hook, as AFAIK the repository
remains locked until the hook finishes).
