Does it work and whats the status of the project?

It's been in production use for over a year now. However, there's been a large lack of "official" work done, as members of alfs were unable for whatever reason to continue development.

The community did not stop though. And development did continue. Presently, there is a small group of developers working together to create a standard specification that's based on previous work that's been completed.
