There is no hard set deadline for the logo. We're working on a new LFS website design which will take some time. Ideally the winning logo should be picked out around the time the website is done (subscribe to the website at linuxfromscratch.org mailinglist if you want to stay abreast of progress).

I only have one book to give away, so the winner of the LFS logo will get the book. But it would still be nice to have (slightly) different logo's for ALFS, BLFS and Hints that will be more in line with that project's 'theme'.

 +
Todo

 +
I need script(s) which parse information from the {LFS,BLFS,ALFS,hints}CVS commit messages (daily) and put it in the news page. The scripts should extract the following info from CVS changelogs: who, when and what. At the top comes a title which states the origin of the item (something like: CVS commit). This must be enclosed in
. The who (email) must become
and when (date)
. The commit message is a paragraph
or perhaps a
in a
. That should account for the body. The whole page can be cat'ed together (seperate header and footer). Also, it might be nice if we could archive news pages each month.

 +
The content of this page should also be manually adjustable in case we want to add news ourselves; so the script should thusly be non-destructive (only add to the body, not recreate that body).

 +
Another thing: the news link should be bookmarkable. Therefore, it should be a symlink to news/year/month.html (where year and month are numerical values of course). This can be done from a crontab.

 +
I lack the skills to write such a script myself, so I hereby challenge anyone capable of doing this to e-mail me! :)
