A video won't give them the skills.

Your course should have prerequisites, just like the book.

If the students aren't able to meet the objectives, it's difficult to  
meet the goals.

Also, many people require more hands on experience than watching a  
video. Videos turn people into robots.

I may suggest an audio book, as well!
