I did not see "make", so I deleted glibc-build/ and I rebegan with

../glibc-2.14.1/configure --prefix=/usr \
    --disable-profile --enable-add-ons \
    --enable-kernel=2.6.25 --libexecdir=/usr/lib/glibc

now I get:

make -k check 2>&1 | tee glibc-check-log:
make[1]: Target `check' not remade because of errors.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/sources/glibc-2.14.1'
make: *** [check] Error 2

grep Error glibc-check-log
make[2]: *** [/sources/glibc-build/posix/bug-regex32.out] Error 1
make[2]: [/sources/glibc-build/posix/annexc.out] Error 1 (ignored)
make[1]: *** [posix/tests] Error 2
make[2]: *** [/sources/glibc-build/rt/tst-mqueue5.out] Error 1
make[2]: *** [/sources/glibc-build/rt/tst-cpuclock2.out] Error 1
make[1]: *** [rt/tests] Error 2
make: *** [check] Error 2

I continued with "make install" and I get in the end:
"Your new glibc installation seems to be ok."

So the error messages seem to be not critical and my problem seems to be solved.

cheers

Klaus
