Unable to even start compiling

I used LFS LiveCD 6.3 r2160 and built LFS 6.5 reading the LFS 6.5 book
and using the files it said to use.

No. That is your problem.

Did you read the book?

Read the Book. It is very clear about where you should be and how to
get there properly.
