The book's instructions do not say to use "sudo". All of Chapter 5 must 
be done entirely as the LFS user. If you have been using root/sudo at 
any point after starting Chapter 5, you will need to rm -rf /tools/* and 
go back to the beginning. If there is some part of the instructions that 
don't work without sudo, it means you've missed something.
