No, it's not a big deal. Building in a separate build directory is
just a nice precaution to keep built objects separate from the source,
but it's not necessary. As long as you were working from a freshly
unpacked source tree, everything will be fine. If you were working
from a stale tree where there were patches previously applied or stale
built objects, that would be a problem and you'd have to back up.
