I'll check, but i think i isolated the problem: the 6.1.1 cd detects
a i810 driver and then an nv driver, so X gets the i810 driver into
the xorg.conf, so i change it before i start X to nv and its fine.
the 6.2 cd detects an nv driver then the i810, so nv is put in
xorg.conf, but i810 is used for the console. the i810 device doesn't
work: it was part of the motherboard and failed, so i bought a nVidia
card (hence the nv driver i guess). Is there a way to change the
driver that the cd detects? or does that command do it?
