LiveCD via loop device?

I think its a compressed image on the CD you will have to mount throug 
loop-device. Maybe you want to have a look at 
http://linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/livecd/2006-December/004218.html. 
In this thread the theme is a little different, but maybe you can use 
the hints Alexander gives there.
