This means that now you're compiling programs that will use the
dynamic linker in /tools, but you might not have been doing this the
whole time in Ch. 5 (like Kens says).

What's the output of

$ readelf -l /tools/bin/make | grep ld-linux

It should be
      [Requesting program interpreter: /tools/lib/ld-linux.so.2]
