Continued and finally came to;

lfs:/mnt/lfs/sources/glibc-build$ cc dummy.c 
lfs:/mnt/lfs/sources/glibc-build$ readelf -l a.out |
grep ': /tools'
      [Requesting program interpreter:
/tools/lib/ld-linux.so.2]
lfs:/mnt/lfs/sources/glibc-build$ rm dummy.c a.out
