Okay, that looks correct.  So, How about the previous suggestion from
Joel Miller.  From your host system, mount $LFS and see if
$LFS/dev/{console,null} exist.  They should look like this:

[root at name1 dj]# ls -l /media/lfs6/dev/
total 0
crw-------  1 root root 5, 1 Dec 23 00:41 console
crw-rw-rw-  1 root root 1, 3 Dec 23 00:41 null
[root at name1 dj]# exit
exit
[dj at name1 ~]#
