Hi all,

when running the GCC Testsuite in Chapter 6, this was the summary:
                 === g++ Summary ===

# of expected passes            224
# of unexpected failures        8534
# of unexpected successes       33
# of expected failures          28
# of unresolved testcases       127
# of untested testcases         30
--
                 === gcc Summary ===

# of expected passes            733
# of unexpected failures        18127
# of unexpected successes       43
# of expected failures          15
# of unresolved testcases       5399
# of untested testcases         322
--
                 === libstdc++-v3 check-abi Summary ===

# of added symbols:              298
# of missing symbols:            284
# of incompatible symbols:       284
                 === libstdc++ tests ===

--
                 === libstdc++ Summary ===

# of unexpected failures        1408
# of expected failures          3

Compiler version: gcc
Platform: i686-pc-linux-gnu
configure flags: --prefix=/usr --libexecdir=/usr/lib --enable-shared
--enable-threads=posix --enable-__cxa_atexit --enable-clocale=gnu
--enable-languages=c,c++

Often the error-message was: compilation failed to produce executable

OK, I can see this is not too good, but my question is: why do al those
tests fail?

Can anybody help me out?

Regards,

Maarten Mulders
