Kernel panic with 2.6.8.1 and pppd

Hi all,

I've got an ADSL internet connection that requires me to log-in using
PPTP. Everything works fine with 2.4.27, but when I try 2.6.8.1 the
connection comes up alright, but when I try to send a package (e.g.
ping) I get a kernel panic.

I only have a partial panic message because the top scrolls of screen
(anyway to see what the top says?) i left out all the address and bytes.

I am using PPP 2.4.1 and PPTP 1.5.0 and starting with:

/usr/sbin/pppd file /etc/ppp/options.adsl

The options.adsl files contains:

idle 0
noauth
user <username>
defaultroute
lcp-echo-interval 10
lcp-echo-failure 3
connect /bin/true
persist
maxfail 0
holdoff 30
pty "/usr/sbin/pptp 10.0.0.138 --nolaunchpppd"
ipparam test

/etc/ppp/options is empty.

I compiled my kernel with gcc 2.95.3.

I have tried googling for this, but found nothing. And because of the
panic no errors get logged.

How do I track down this problem?

TIA,

Laurens
