The 573 ownership is something to worry about. You should never extract
tarballs as root. About the times: Well, as today is Mar 22 2004 all of
these times are fine now :-)

     For files with a time that is more  than  6  months
     old or more than 1 hour into the future, the times­
     tamp contains the year instead of the time of  day.
