GLibc-2.3.2 patch doesn't work

you need to cd in the glibc-2.3.2 dir and the patch the glibc.

cd $LFS/sources/glibc-2.3.2
patch -N0 -i ../glibc-2.3.2-sscanf-1.patch

works fine.
