from hard copy of "linux from scratch 4.1" I made:
#################################################
su
gcc --version
> gcc (GCC) 3.2.2 20030222 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.2-5)
/sbin/mke2fs -T ext2 /dev/hda13
mount -t ext2 /dev/hda13 /mnt/hda13
export LFS=/mnt/hda13
mkdir $LFS/static
/usr/sbin/useradd -s /bin/bash -m lfs
passwd -f lfs
chown lfs $LFS/static
exit
su - lfs
cat > $HOME/.bash_profile << "EOF"
umask 022
LFS=/mnt/hda13
LC_ALL=POSIX
CC="gcc -s"
export LFS LC_ALL CC
EOF
source ~/.bash_profile
cd bash-2.05a // which I got with "linux from scratch 4.1"'s cdrom
 /configure --enable-static-link --prefix=$LFS/static --with-curses
>./configure: line 44: conf2296.file: No such file or directory
>./configure: line 780: config.log: No such file or directory
cd ../bash-2.01 // which I downloaded from ftp server
 /configure --enable-static-link --prefix=$LFS/static --with-curses
/*
   work cool, no errors!
   same to the other packages
*/
exit // become root again... exit(su - lfs)
/usr/sbin/chroot $LFS /static/bin/env -i \
    HOME=/root TERM=$TERM PS1='\u:\w\$ ' \
    PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/static/bin \
    /static/bin/bash --login
> /static/bin/env: /static/bin/bash: No such file or directory
