 Try fuser /mnt/lfs to find what is holding on to it.  If that fails,
use lsof. [ most LFS upgraders don't have lsof, which is why I put fuser
first. ]

 If this is LFS-5.1 and you ran the tests, I'll add a guess that
./filebuf_members.exe (from the gcc testsuite) is the culprit.
