What is the file /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive for?

Remember when you did:

make localedata/install-locales

and your compuler spent a lot of time doing things like:

en_US_iso8859-1 ?

_That_ was the creation of locale-archive.

You can't delete it but you can follow the instructions to install a minimal 
set of locales. Should save you about 35 mbyte or so.
