Hi,
I started making my own brew few days ago, but my efforts have been hampered
by a persistent error. I’m still at the first stage, and I get the messages
below when I try to install Glibc-2.3.3. Building seemed to have finished
successfully, as I didn’t see any alarming massages, but a good amount of
time after `make install`, the process got interrupted by this:

$c /dev/null > /mnt/lfs/usr/source/build_glib/posix/stubsT

../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/i386/setgid.c../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/i386/setg

make[1l: *** [posix/subdir_install] Error 2
make[2l: Leaving directory `/mnt/lfs/usr/source/glibc-2.3.3-lfs-5.1'

I tried few more times, but to no avail.

I’m using:
1) Hardware: 2GZ Celeron
2) Software: WinXP Home as a host system for VMWare providing 194Mb
RAM and two virtual 4GB SCSI disks to a Knoppix 3.3 Live CD as an LFS 5.1
host.

I have:
1) A Glibc source dir at /mnt/lfs/usr/source/glibc-2.3.3-lfs-5.1
2) A Glibc build dir at /mnt/lfs/usr/source/build_glib

I have kept both my Binutils and GCC source and build directories and files
intact. My LFS ENV_VAR is properly set. Does this ring bells?

I appreciate your time,
Blago
