Nope, it's not a typo.  I want to get through one full cycle before
going on to bigger and, hopefully better, versions.

I thought it unlikely, too, and checked for them.  They're there.  And I
just checked again, to be sure.  By "in chroot" I take it that you mean
that after I've done the chroot dance and "root:/#" is my prompt.
chroot is a new experience for me, so I'm trying to be very careful of
my p's and q's.

Nor do I.  I'm hoping someone will have had the same experience.  Oh,
well.  I've been wanting to buy a bigger hard drive anyway, so I may
just do that and start over with it!
