I would verify your fstab file to make sure it is laid out correctly.

Subject: Rebooting the system

Hi'

I'm rebooting the system (lfs book chapter 9) but I'm getting the following
failures

-mount:can't find / in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab .......FAILED

-mount:can not remove /var/run/utmp :Read only file system ...........FAILED

-Recording exiting mounts in etc/mtab ........
/etc/rc/rcsysinit.d/s40mountfs: line 17: /etc/mtab:Readonly file system
mount: can't find / in /etc/fstab or etc/mtab ......FAILED

-mount:mounting remain file system .... FAILED

rm:Removing /var/run/* and /var/lock/* ....... FAILED

Starting system log daemon .... FAILED

Though the system is bootable for ten minutes but I'm un able to remove
those failures

I have tried to my best to recorrect the corressponding installed packakes
and commands but failures are same.

Can any one help me what to do.

FRED.
