this is the hardware-platform field of the output.

there is a new patch coreutils-5.2.1-uname-2.patch
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/patches/downloads/coreutils/

i just applied this patch and followed the LFS-5.1 instructions
through "make"
but instead of doing everything else i think i'll just
install the new uname to the correct location.

old:
[rick at loco /usr/src/LFS-5.1/coreutils-5.2.1]$ uname -a
Linux loco 2.4.26-20040702 #1 Fri Jul 2 16:09:55 MDT 2004 i686 GenuineIntel
unknown GNU/Linux
[rick at loco /usr/src/LFS-5.1/coreutils-5.2.1]$ uname -i
unknown

new:
[/usr/src/LFS-5.1/coreutils-5.2.1]$ ./src/uname
Linux
[/usr/src/LFS-5.1/coreutils-5.2.1]$ ./src/uname -a
Linux loco 2.4.26-20040702 #1 Fri Jul 2 16:09:55 MDT 2004 i686 pentium3 i386
GNU/Linux
[/usr/src/LFS-5.1/coreutils-5.2.1]$ ./src/uname -i
i386
