Problems compiling GCC-3.3.1 - Pass 1, LFS 5.0, (Mandrake 9.1 Host)

Hi everybody,
I am trying to build LFS 5.0 on a Dell Latitude laptop
currently running Mandrake 9.1. I was able to build binutils 2.14,
pass 1, without difficulty. I am following the LFS 5.0 instructions
exactly as they are written. However, gcc-3.3.1, pass 1, won't
compile for me and has failed twice. I have verified that I have all
of the dependencies listed for GCC installed on the host system. And
I am not using any optimizations. Here is a snippet of my error:

Any ideas?

Thank you!!!
