NO!!!!!!

Sorry, but that will DESTROY the system if you put it in the MBR, and will
DESTROY the superblock in any other case!

if you want to put it in the partition bootrecord, do 'dd if=/dev/zero
of=/dev/hdxy bs=512 count=1' so that it ONLY gets the _FIRST_ sector, which
doesn't have the superblock.

if you want it in the MBR, first try uninstalling grub (if possible), and then
run lilo.

But, whatever you do, DON'T FOLLOW ERIC!  Sorry eric, but that will HOSE the
system completely, you'll lose the partition table which is a Bad Thing (TM).
