my lfs doesn't boot in chapter 9

When you ran MAKEDEV, did you use ./MAKEDEV -v generic-nopty ?
You'll need to add:
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=4,mode=620 0 0
to your /etc/fstab file if you did.
