Problem with Patch

Well you can see the file,  possibly you have done
ls  $LFS/static/bin/patch

You need to see if it is static.  Do
file  $LFS/static/bin/patch

If it says "dynamic", return to chapter 5 and make patch again.  It
must be a statically linked program to work in the chroot environment.
