more script syntax

Again, my apologies as a .bat scripter.

What is the syntax to define a subroutine in a bash script- the equivalent
of the old BASIC gosub return

for example:

pkg = bash-2.5a
src = $LFS/static/src/linuxpakages
<gosub equiv> marker

###Begin install script
./ make install
blah
blah
blah
###end install

pkg = fileutils (etc etc)





marker
  bzcat $pkg.tar.bz2 | tar -xv
  cd $src/$pkg
<return equiv>
