glibc-2.2.5 problem.

Which LFS version did you use? Older versions had you change the 
login/Makefile file by hand (using a sed) maybe you made a typo and the file 
was corrupted.

Remove the glibc-2.2.5 and glibc-build directories and start over again. This 
time use the LFS-4.0 which has you apply a patch to Glibc rather than editing 
the file manually. Less chance of errors this way.
