I don't have that file. I'm pretty sure that's only there if you build
gcc2.95.x, not 3.x.
I tried
ln -s libstdc++.so libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2
but that (predictably) gives me a seg fault.

For reference:
root:/usr/lib# ls -la libst*
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root      1400944 Mar 24 17:43 libstdc++.a
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root         1037 Mar 11 23:55 libstdc++.la
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           18 Mar 11 23:55 libstdc++.so ->
libstdc++.so.3.0.4
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           18 Mar 11 23:55 libstdc++.so.3 ->
libstdc++.so.3.0.4
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root       778375 Mar 24 17:44 libstdc++.so.3.0.4
root:/usr/lib#

I could have missed something, but I can't imagine what.
