Hi all..got a newbie question for ya...I'm trying to make my LFS on the latest version of Debian. I'm on chapter six and have attempted to install glibc. I unpacked the linux threads package in the the glib directory created when I unpacked the glib package. I am also using LFS ver.3.2.

However when I attempt to install glibc I get the following error:

collect2: cannot find 'ld'
make[2]:***[/usr/src/lfs-packages-3.2/glibc-2.2.5/csu/crt1.o] Error1
make[2]: Leaving directory '/usr/src/lfs-packages-3.2/glibc-2.2.5/csu'
make[1]:***[csu/subdir_lib] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory '/usr/src/lfs-packages-3.2/glibc-2.2.5'
make: ***[all] Error 2

have I done something wrong or is there something more insidious going on here???

Thanks in advance
