Me I like having a small PS1, give more space for cmdline (b4 wrapping)

Check bash(1) man page to see how to use the PS1 variable. (search PROMPTING)
For example, adding "\h" in it, will add the hostname.

You can even put colors in this if you want :)

Me I use:

PS1='\[\033[1;31m\]\u:\[\033[1;34m\]\w\[\033[1;31m\]\$ \[\033[0;39m\]'
