Standard bootscript locations?

I know it says in the book that lfs is user's system, but is there
standard place
for bootscript commands?

For example, I want to run route on bootup and in ssh hint it suggests
putting such and such script in appropriate place. I want to be able
to find where I put these scripts 6 months from now so I would prefer
to put them in standard place and not have to rely on my memory.
