Trouble with Berkeley db-3.17

I use the following line:
    CPPFLAGS="-I/opt/db/include" \
    LDFLAGS="-L/opt/db/lib" \
    ./configure --prefix=/opt/GNOME

Of course, fix the paths to match where you have db installed as well as 
where you want the GNOME stuff installed.
