Hello,

I´ve problems to compile gcc-2.95.3. When I try to compile it the second
time (in Chapter 6 of the LFS-Book), i get the following error-message:

[...]
In file included from gthr-default.h:1,
                 from ../../gcc-2.95.3/gcc/gthr.h:98,
                 from ../../gcc-2.95.3/gcc/libgcc2.c:3034:
../../gcc-2.95.3/gcc/gthr-posix.h:37: pthread.h: No such file or
directory
make[2]: *** [libgcc2.a] Error 1
[...]

The file gthr-posix.h includes the file pthread.h, which is not part of
the archive. I´ve downloaded the complete archive from finuxfromscratch
and i´ve also downloaded gcc from the GNU homepage directly, both
archives didnt contain the "pthread.h" file.

Before compiling gcc i had also trouble compiling glibc and ncurses:
For configuring glibc i had to set an extra option to compile glibc
without the linuxthreads-package.
While compiling ncurses an error-message occured, but make install did
work properly.

The error-message was:

[...]
/lfs/usr/src/gcc-build/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libio/../../../gcc-2.95.3/libio/streambuf.h:397:
undefined reference to '_IO_peekc_locked'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** Leaving difrectory '/usr/src/ncurses-5.2/c++'
[...]

I´m using SuSE-Linux 7.1 Professional to built lfs.

BTW: Can you tell me how to write error-messages to a file? "command >
filename" does only print the standard-output to the file, but not the
error-messages, and i don´t want to write down all the error messages.

Thank you

Martin
