hello,

while booting the lfs kernel the system writes:

request_module[block-device-22]Root fs not mounted
VFS: Cannot open root device "1604" or 16:04
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel Panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs von 16:04

then it stops

how can i fix that problem?

i have tried to build the kernel with the parameter
"CONFIG_CMDLINE=root=/dev/hdc4" (as mentioned in the kernel docs

here my lilo.conf:
--
append="vga=0x0301"
boot=/dev/hdc3
vga = normal
menu-scheme=Wg:kw:Wg:Wg
read-only
prompt
timeout=50

image = /boot/vmlinuz_24
   root = /dev/hdc3
   label = linux_2.4
   initrd = /boot/initrd_24
   optional

image = /boot/memtest.bin
   label = memtest86

other = /dev/hdc1
   label = win2k-play-sys

image = /boot/lfskernel
   root = /dev/hdc4
   label = lfs
