I believe the 'uninitialized value' errors indicate that a variable
which is expected to have a value at that point doesn't have one.

Perl can get gnarly pretty quickly, so (if you don't mind being
condescended to ;) one of the perl forums might be helpful.  The package
maintainer might also be interested to learn of a condition that breaks
his/her code.
