I've barelly started building the testing LFS and have run into a problem:

Durring the pass 1 build of Glibc I get the following:

CPP='gcc -B/tools/bin/ -E -x c-header'
/lfs/srcs/glibc-build/elf/ld-linux.so.2 --library-path
/lfs/srcs/glibc-build:/lfs/srcs/glibc-build/math:/lfs/srcs/glibc-build/elf:/lfs/srcs/glibc-build/dlfcn:/lfs/srcs/glibc-build/nss:/lfs/srcs/glibc-build/nis:/lfs/srcs/glibc-build/rt:/lfs/srcs/glibc-build/resolv:/lfs/srcs/glibc-build/crypt:/lfs/srcs/glibc-build/nptl
/lfs/srcs/glibc-build/sunrpc/rpcgen -Y ../scripts -c
rpcsvc/bootparam_prot.x -o /lfs/srcs/glibc-build/sunrpc/xbootparam_prot.T
FATAL: kernel too old
make[2]: *** [/lfs/srcs/glibc-build/sunrpc/xbootparam_prot.stmp} Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/lfs/srcs/glibc-2.3.4-20040701/sunrpc'
make[1]: *** [sunrpc/others] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/lfs/srcs/glibc-2.3.4-20040701'
make: *** [all] Error2

The host system is a 2.4 series kernel, is that the problem?

I swear I've seen this discussed recently, however I didn't find any
messages about it in a search through those I have.
