There's a problem with --enable-kernel. There are two solutions right now. LFS 
is using this sed command:
sed -i '195,213 s/PRIVATE_FUTEX/FUTEX_CLOCK_REALTIME/' \
nptl/sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/pthread_rwlock_timed{rd,wr}lock.S

The other solution is to use --enable-kernel=2.6.30. I think LFS decided to 
use the Sed command instead of raising the host system requirements to 2.6.30.

I'll add the Sed command to the HLFS book, like LFS has done.
