Thanks for the above. I am building hlfs for the first time. So these basic 
questions. I added a user
in the 'suers' group. This user can 'su' but cannot configure or build any 
packages. The error is:
'/bin/bash bad interpretter. Permission denied".
What should I do to fix this one?

Also, somewhere in the process of building hlfs/bhlfs, i had come accross 
certain user id's reserved only for certain applications.
How significant is that?
