Lol, it appears rock solid, though you have to jump through a couple of
hoops cross-building from, say, solaris (build gnu packages first to
use instead of solaris defaults)

As an example, for my current x86_64 bi-arch build, ch5 was cross-built
on an 8way Sunfire v880 running solaris 9 ;-)

Method appears to have been used by Yoper Linux for development of their
x86_64 port, and is currently in production use by the CRUX linux
PPC team (ncrfgs has created a crux package based upon cross-lfs).
