iptables/NAT problem?

I have one of those and it works. dmesg reports:

natsemi dp8381x driver, version 1.07+LK1.0.17, Sep 27, 2002

Your problem sounds a lot like a mismatched mtu and packet
fragmentation. You might want to look into that even if it's working now.
