Two GTK Versions

No, that's not really accurate. GTK+ was originally developed as a part
of the Gimp, hence the name. But for a long time now, it's been a
completely separate project, with no connection to the Gimp. Gimp 2 uses
Gtk+2, but has no more importance than other projects that do so.

In practice, it might as well stand for 'Gnome Tool Kit' these days,
given how much influence GTK and Gnome have on each other...
