Yeah, just do it. I confess to installing the Nvidia drivers, jre-1.5.0, Open
Office-1.1 (only for the PowerPoint) and the RealPlayer-10 from binaries. I
think it's better to compile from source as things usually run better that way,
but it's not always practical.
