I should have mentioned I got my main.cf from the mail hint, and
removed the lines for RBL, etc.

Thanks for the file. I was hoping to avoid a rework. On the main.cf,
it appears you are sending me back to where I was before they started
bouncing me..

As for smtp.ntlworld.ie, try this

dnsip smtp.ntlworld.ie --> shourl return 62.253.162.40
ping smtp.ntlworld.ie  --> returns 212.250.162.x
dnsip mailhost.ntl.com --> returns 212.250.162.x

I can predict what will happen with your main.cf, Tony. I will try it
(In 'doze currently) but I can predict it: It will be bounced in
answer to the RCPT command 550 You are not allowed.....

I am no closer to discovering why/how the bastards are doing that. I
can't be bothered taking it too seriously as I expect to have a
different ISP next year.
